Forgive Me

I have confused
the bombs
that were in
the desert

with those
birth control devices
implanted
in the uterus

Forgive me,
war and women,
I know nothing of either

  1. William Carlos Williams keeps on giving and giving, doesn’t he? I groaned when I saw this on Twitter, and you’ve created a great setting to memorialize this foul-up. Both interrupt the journey from point a to b, and life is at stake when both operate as designed. The conflation of war and women suggests a more trenchant point about the violence mothers (whether noncombatants or service members) sustain from irregular warfare.
