Thomas Donovan grew up in New York City, where he was a Golden Gloves boxer and once boxed in Madison Square Garden. Tom later became an electrical engineer and corporate executive. He passed away suddenly after completing an unpublished novel, nearly completing a second, and before any of his many flash fiction pieces were submitted for publication.
